Non-Tempered Glass also referred to as ANNEALED glass or regular float glass. The most common glass type used on furniture except outdoor type furniture, furniture for the hospitality industry and those used in a public area; ALL Stock Glass Tops is of this kind.

Tempered Glass sometimes called safety glass or toughened glass. This is when annealed glass goes through a thermal tempering process to improve its strength making it six times stronger. This glass is used on outdoor furniture, furniture for the hospitality industry, and all other furniture needing to conform to safety or code requirements. Also, this type of glass is resorted to when there is a greater concern for safety.

Applications (Glass Top Only)

Lay-on glass – Glass top that sit on top of a metal, wood, stone base. The edges are exposed and need to be finished to a high polish or in any other fabrication. ALL STOCK GLASS TABLETOPS ARE LAY-ON ONLY.

Insert Glass – Glass that fits on a frame or conforms to a shape on furniture. Size tolerance is critical for the glass top to fit. Extra care must be observed when doing actual measurement. Edges may or may not be finished to a high polish because they are not exposed.

Glass Color (stock table tops only):

Clear Glass – regular clear glass with a greenish tint. Tint shade dependent on company and country where the sheet glass was floated. In stock is regular clear glass only.
